I have not blogged much lately however a lot has happened since the last blog entry. I have decided to start a small company called "THC" the agency will complete home studies for counties and private agencies that want to certify foster and adoptive families. I found 4 people that want to contract with me to do the actual home studies and two of them are already trained. The system is pretty basic. The agencies will send THC the home study information and THC will send it to a subcontractor that will complete the study and send it back to THC for approval. THC will sign off on it and send it to the county or private agency. Pretty simple and wont gross a lot in the beginning but after 6 months I will approach the agencies for the exclusive contract to do all of their h.s's through THC thus eliminating all other competition. My job will be to convince the agencies that it is in their best interest to work with us as opposed to whomever they are currently contracting with. After a year I will go for the exclusive contracts with all of the major counties and agencies in the state. We will make our money in volume. It is relatively cheap to start and we will profit only about 150 per home study but passive income is passive income. I could also do a few home studies myself for about $700 a pop if I need extra cash. Last week I submitted my application for insurance for the agency. I'll keep you posted on what the quote is. Hopefully it won’t kill me. Progress is slow but progress none the less. My goal this week is to stay away from the TV and spend my time creating an agency protocol and operating procedure. I also have to get an agency to buy into what I am attempting to do and agree to contract with me. Before I do that I will need the insurance and to be put on the State approved vendors list. This should not take too much time. I should have this complete by Friday (you hold me to this). I have to admit I am battling major fears now. I think to myself (why would an agency believe in Me., especially after the first business failure? my reply...Why not? I am smart and a hard worker; I have good contractors and a catchy business motto. If I don’t believe in me... no one will! Failure is reserved for those that quit.
As of now I am broke, I am starting the process of filing bankruptcy, My group home has just been foreclosed on and I have to sell all of the things in the house (craigslist) and the creditors are crawling all around me. I am fine on my mortgage but the foreclosure on the other house is going to kill my credit. I have 7 vehicles and only one is working I cannot afford to get the others fixed. My wife is driving our only working car to get her back and forth to work. Not quite sure how I'm going to get back and forth to work next week but ill figure out something. I realize that my situation seems bad and to some insurmountable. But not me, this trial is going to make success the second time around so much sweeter. This is where I'm, at but not where I'm going. Trust me this will be a great story some day. Thanks for reading...until next time. "Accomplish something next week"
